Hall 8 at the GreenTech was all about the future of feeding the world, especially at the vertical farming pavilion where we could see the latest developments in growth chambers, container farms and vertical cropping and NFT systems.
One of the eye catchers in hall eight was the gigantic vertical farming system that was on display at the booth of Logiqs/HOVE International. The Greencube vertical farming system is an entirely robotized multi level plant factory transportation system, based on the knowledge and experience that Logiqs/HOVE International has from automated rolling bench system.
"This is the way we see vertical farming", explained Gert-Jan van Staalduinen. He said that they integrated their experience from the engineering of a multi-level rolling bench system into a multi level growth system that can autonomously operate within a vertical controlled environment farm.
You can build this system inside a fully closed warehouse; with the help of Vertical Transporters, the iCube shuttle can collect and organize the plant containers from sowing to harvesting, all without the need for human interaction.
At the GreenTech, Logiqs/HOVE International displayed this demo of their system with three layers, including LED lighting. "The system is completely modular, so it can be installed at any desired size and height with as many layers as required."
